We offer spring, summer and fall vegetable shares with optional weekly portions of eggs, goat cheese, pork sausage, and pick-your-own flowers at an additional cost. Members buy their share(s) in the early spring, supporting the farm with much-needed early-season income, and then receive weekly distributions of veggies—usually worth 20% more than the original payment—from our seasonal bounty during a specified time period. Our CSA members are one of the pillars that hold our farm up and we aim to give them the best quality and diversity that we can grow.
Our spring share (8 weeks) will be one size ($25/wk) and a pre-picked basket, due to our limited growing capabilities during the North Country “spring.”
This season, our summer and fall shares will be available in two sizes: a “full” share, perfect for a family or a vegetable-loving couple, and a “small” share, great for 1-2 people depending on diet. Summer and fall share members who pick up at the farm will also be able to choose most of their veggies (both amounts and type) within certain categories! We hope this system will get you exactly the veggies you are excited about each week, though we will always challenge you to try something new. What does this look like?
Here’s an example of a late summer share, when we’re swimming in tomatoes and lettuce mix. All the crops we are harvesting that week will be laid out on tables, divided into crop categories. Based on your share size you will pick a certain number of items from each category. You may pick the same item multiple times, just once, or never—unless it’s one of the one or two mandatory items that week.
Pickup day for all three shares will be Thursdays from 3-7pm at the farm.
Pickups of a boxed share (full or small) will be available in Lancaster on Wednesdays (at the Root Seller 12-6), in Gorham on Tuesdays, and Lincoln on Fridays (depending on interest) for summer and fall shares. If you cannot pick up on that day, we most likely cannot accommodate you, but please contact us to check!
While we aim for members to receive 20% more value than their initial payment (along with a weekly newsletter, recipes, and additional goodies), farming is not always predictable and your share may be limited in size if there is a drastic weather event, bug infestation, etc—though this has never come to pass in previous seasons.
