Fall CSA Week #7
Thursday November 5th: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The clean up and reset continues
GH10 grafted cherry tomatoes planted at the end of April here on May 10th. We dedicated most of our tomato greenhouse space to cherry tomatoes this season between GH4, GH9 and GH10 ensuring early cherry tomatoes and a consistent supply throughout the season. The final pints are for sale in our farm-stand for the 2026 season as cleanup of this greenhouse was completed yesterday.
With the arrival of colder weather a few weeks ago, Jaime, dug up outside swiss chard and transplanted into greenhouse 10. You enjoyed swiss chard off these plants in last weeks share. They along with some other greens remain in GH10.
Jaime, Sam and Shawn completed the tomato removal yesterday. The chickens enjoyed most of the dropped tomatoes. With row cover the remaining greens will hopefully last for at least another few weeks.
Ridge started and Jav finished adding a layer of plastic to the end wall of GH10. With fruiting crops in the greenhouse early and late, insulating and covering up any air gaps helps keep heat inside.
GH11 progress continues. Tim took some time to reset the beds. After shuffling material with the bucket of the tractor, he used the forigo and connected beds from GH11 - with the garden beds that were once part of G6. We have some hand work to do to set things up exactly how we want them to be, however we are set for the spring seedling sale, and a future fruiting crop. In the next few weeks we hope to construct the end wall, and cover the greenhouse with plastic.
The pigs are enjoying the halloween pumpkins from the Littleton’s Gathering of the Jack O’Lanterns.
Bring your pumpkins by for the pigs!
