The Harvest Continues
G8 out by the blueberries has continued to provide the bulk of the greens we have been and will continue to harvest this fall. Salad Turnips, Radishes, Spinach, Baby Kale, Greens Mix, and Lettuce Mix are all coming out of this garden. Row cover protects on colder nights, and despite the fact that regrowth is slow, we have been able to maintain amounts going out the door to you, our farm stand, restaurants, and stores.
Jav Harvested the last few carrots over at the oxbow in the final carrot harvest push made Sunday afternoon. It has been a race against the deer who have been enjoying these carrots almost as much as we have.
Our walk-in fridge is rather full of carrots, we hope to have carrots available into 2026.
Cleaning up
In addition to tomato plants out of all our greenhouses except gh2 whose tomatoes are still hanging on, we made our way out the G4 by the road and removed all the broccolini, and early kale. We are making a push to put everything to bed going into the winter.
Also this week Tim started moving soil out of G2 as we prepare for…. drum roll please…..GH11. Yes, you read that correctly, we are going to start erecting the frame in the next week!
We share 809 Brook Road with Woodland Community School. CHILDREN AND PARENTS MAY BE STILL IN AND AROUND THE DRIVEWAY WHEN CSA PICKUP BEGINS, PLEASE BE CAREFUL NAVIGATING THE PARKING LOT.
